When it comes to funding startups, Africa has advanced significantly. At least thousands of investors have passed through the startup ecosystem on the continent since 2015, dropping a few bucks. These investors include angel investors, venture capital and private equity firms, credit institutions, high net worth individuals, family offices, accelerators, incubators, development finance institutions, and non-profit organizations. Despite the diverse range of investors within this ecosystem, venture capital firms, also known as VCs, have demonstrated perseverance and resourcefulness in securing money.

It should be noted that some of the investors are not limited to Africa, and the lengthy list below does not include every investor who has ever made an investment in the ecosystem.
